Festivus is a \holiday\ that was created for a \Seinfeld\ episode in 1997. It's presented as a warped, non-secular alternative to the holiday season. I'm James VanOsdol, and the Festivus idea's managed to not only endure, but pick up steam since its debut, and I want to zero in on one of the core principles.

As for me?
In the interest of brevity, I'll narrow my list down to three:
First, Tailgating. If you're riding up someone's bumper on the road, my grievance is with you. Tailgating is traffic bullying. And it's especially not okay when my kids are in the car. It's dangerous. Back. Off.
Also: People who stand sideways on the elevator instead of facing front. Elevator cars can be claustrophobic enough, but the side-standers actually take up more space. And it creates for some weird eye contact moments. Elevator cars should be like lining up dominoes, not playing Tetris. Face front.
Finally, this idea of nerd culture: Can we get past that? When Star Wars and Avengers movies are the biggest money-makers, and shows like Walking Dead, Jessica Jones and Game of Thrones are dominating water cooler conversation it's clear that so-called \nerd culture\ is really just popular culture.
And so goes the airing of Rivet's grievances. A Festivus gift from us to you--I'm JVO.
